2023 Minimum Wage Increases
Upcoming Rate Changes
Effective 01/01/2023
The following minimum wage rate are going to become effective on 01/01/2023, and will not increase until 01/01/2024:
Base Minimum Wage - $13.00/hour
Tipped Employees - $7.80/hour
Youths (Under 18, working less than 650 hours per Calendar Year) - $10.50/hour
Note: Any new employees over age 18 may, at the employers' discretion be paid up to $0.50/hour less than the applicable minimum wage rate until their new hire probation period of 90 days from the date of hire has been completed.
Additionally, once an employee under the age of 18 works more than 650 hours for the employer during any calendar year, they must then be padi the regular (over 18 wage rate).
Overtime is based on 1.5x the regular pay rate, and accrues after the first 40 total hours of the employee during the work week.
